The design for Engel captures the spirit of this era through a careful blend of exquisite materials, sumptuous textures, and detailed craftsmanship. Evoking the golden age of Art Deco, this luxurious space pays homage to the grandeur and sophistication of the 1920s.

This bar captures the essence of a time that embraced Art Deco, lavish elegance, artistic expression, and the spirit of indulgence. A centrepiece circular bar, adorned with polished brass, rich burl book-matched timber panels and black and gold polished marble takes centre stage. The leaded stained glass fluted lampshades to the ornate brass gantry take influence from the traditional 1920’s Tiffany style lighting casting a soft warm glow of light onto the beautiful ceiling of the Royal Exchange. Plush midnight blue velvet bar stools with 1920’s-inspired graphical upholstery beckons guests to take a seat and enjoy the art of mixology.

Intimate seating areas, featuring velvet couches and wing-back chairs with nostalgic prints, are thoughtfully arranged throughout the space. The deep red colour palette with accents of champagne gold and glistening silver of “Golden Age Reverie” is rich, sophisticated, and evocative of the 1920s spirit of indulgence. These colours perfectly reflect the vibrancy, glamour, and effervescence of the era, enveloping visitors in an ambience that exudes both elegance and sophistication.
